The day you welcome your new little one deserves to be cherished for years to come. With my help, you’ll be able to revisit that day over and over again!

So, how does it work? What exactly do I take pictures of throughout the day? What if I go into labor at 2am? Emergency caesarean? What is a Fresh 48?

Let’s break it down!

Booking & Consultation

When planning for your Birth Story, we’ll first chat and get to know one another. I want to know what you envision for the day, what types of images you love, and the ones that you’d rather not have. If you have a birth plan we’ll go over it together and discuss all aspects of it. You’ll have a chance to ask me any questions you may have as well. I want to make sure that the day of your delivery goes as smooth as possible so you can focus on bringing your sweet baby into the world!

I’ll pencil your due date on my calendar and plan who will be the person of contact to update me when the time comes. Then, I’ll send over your Client Contract & Model Release for you to sign and return to me via email. Lastly, you’ll receive your invoice that will break down your total charge, payments and due dates, and you’ll go ahead and submit your retainer to secure your delivery day.

Leading Up To The Delivery

As you know, due dates are a rough estimate of when baby will actually arrive. Although some deliveries are scheduled c-sections or inductions, most tend to be unpredictable with you going into labor at any hour of the day. At the 37 week mark, I will be on-call and available to you until your little one arrives meaning I will stay close to home and refrain from any out of town trips to ensure I don’t miss a thing!

The person of contact we’ve put in place will update me on your progress and I will head to your birth location once active labor is about to begin.

Welcoming Baby

Once I arrive on delivery day, I will begin documenting every single detail leading up to and during delivery. After baby has made his or her grand entrance, I stay on site for up to two (2) hours, making sure to step away and give you a bit of time while any post delivery items take place. If allowed, I’ll follow baby to the nursery to document those milestone first moments (baby being cleaned up, measurements taken , etc.).

Before leaving, I’ll take a moment to edit a few pics and upload them to a mini gallery for you to share with baby’s birth announcement!

Following Delivery Day

With your Birth Story, you’ll also receive a Fresh 48 session. A Fresh 48 is designated to photograph baby within the first 48 hours of birth. This gives parents the opportunity to freshen up and have photos taken holding and loving on your little one as well as allowing for those details shots we all love such as baby’s fingers and toes! This session is also a great time to include and siblings in some of the pictures. Fresh 48s are held in your hospital room/birthing location before taking baby home or, if you prefer, I’ll come to your home as soon as you have arrived!

To secure your birth, a retainer in the amount of 40 % of the total is due at time of booking. Remaining balance due no later than three (3) weeks prior to your due date. Balance must be paid in full to ensure photographer is on-call. Please note: Photographer will only guarantee availability if client’s balance is paid in full at that time.

*All deposits are non-refundable/non-transferable.
**Travel exceeding 25 miles from photographer’s place of residence to birthing location will incur a $25 Travel Fee.

Fresh 48

$600.00

Every Fresh 48 includes:

- Personal Consultation
- In-hospital/In-home session with 48 Hours of Delivery
-Same Day Mini Gallery
-50+ Professionally Edited Images w/ Print Release
- $100 Print Credit OR Brag Book

To secure your Fresh 48, a retainer in the amount of 50 % of the total is due at time of booking. Remaining balance due no later than three (3) weeks prior to your due date.

*All deposits are non-refundable/non-transferable.
**Travel exceeding 25 miles from photographer’s place of residence to birthing location will incur a $25 Travel Fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will you still photograph the birth if I’m having a c-section?: Absolutely! I always suggest that you check with both your doctor and hospital/birthing center to make sure of any guidelines or restrictions should the need for a c-section arrive.
What if I go into labor at 3am?: No worries, I will be there! Starting at the 37 week mark I’ll be on call 24/7. I stay close to home and refrain from leaving town to ensure that I won’t miss a thing, regardless of when baby decides to arrive.
So, will you be taking pictures….down there?: During our consultation, you’ll be able to relay exactly what you do and don’t want me to photograph and I will make sure to stay within those perimeters.
Will my images be shared online?: While I love sharing client’s images on my website and social media, I will only do so with your consent.
I’m having a water birth. Is that something you cover?: Absolutely! No matter what type of birth you are having, or where you choose to deliver, I will be more than happy to be there!
Is it possible to have a maternity session done instead of a Fresh 48?: For sure! If you’d prefer to have a Maternity Session included with your Birth Story rather than a Fresh 48, I’ll be more than happy to swap them out.
Do you provide any payment options?: I sure do! Following your initial retainer to secure your delivery date, I will be more than happy to break up the remaining balance into payments. Just let me know during our consultation if interested.
Can friends and/or family contribute to the cost of my Birth Story?: Of course! Adding your Birth Story to your baby registry can be a huge help to offset the cost of your cost. Just ask me how at your consultation!
